Fue elegida para ocupar la presidencia de la [[Federación]] en el año 3297 y su corto mandato –su administración no llegó a superar la moción de confianza a mediados de legislatura– será recordado por dos grandes y polémicos sucesos: [[jasmina_hasley#las revueltas del Cebollazo|las revueltas del Cebollazo]] y la [[jasmina_hasley#la_guerra_de_Lugh|guerra de Lugh]] ==== Las revueltas del Cebollazo ==== A finales del 3300 e inicio del 3301 la presidenta anunció que la sustancia llamada popularmente como [[Cebollazo]] iba a ser ilegalizada. Este hecho provocó que los agricultores de [[Kappa Fornacis]], con [[Georgio Algeria]] al frente, se alzasen en una rebelión que fue polémicamente aplastada en dos campañas de bombardeo del planeta [[Panem]] –principal productor de la planta–. Algunos analistas creen que el [[Almirante Vincent]] inició la ofensiva sin consultarlo para así dañar la imagen de la presidenta y favorecer a su amigo [[Zachary Hudson]], en la oposición en aquellas fechas, pero es algo de lo que no se tiene prueba alguna. ==== La guerra de Lugh ==== El segundo gran evento de su mandato fue la guerra de Lugh en contra del [[Crimson State Group]] que había tomado el control por la fuerza de [[Balandin Gateway]], una de las principales estaciones del sistema. La presidenta decidió enviar el [[Crucero de Batalla Farragut]] [[FNS Nevermore]] pero el plan fracasó estrepitosamente al fallar los sistemas de adquisición de blanco del crucero de batalla y éste disparó erróneamente contra la estación [[Hudson Hub]] durante unas maniobras. Desafortunadamente los sistemas de defensa automatizados de la estación devolvieron el fuego lo que causó docenas de muertes y cientos de miles de millones en daños en las estructuras de ambos. Otro desafortunado evento fue que información de inteligencia errónea provocaron la destrucción de un convoy en el que murieron 9.322 civiles inocentes al creerse que [[Éamonn Uí Laoghire]] –líder del [[Crimson State Group]]– iba en él. Este evento provocó un descenso de casi el 26% en la popularidad de la presidenta y el líder de la oposición por aquel entonces, [[Zachary Hudson]], instó al [[congreso]] a abrir una investigación. Esto supuso un duro golpe a su administración que finalmente se vio forzada a retirar sus fuerzas de [[Lugh]] el 25 de marzo de 3301, dos días después del incidente del convoy a instancias de ambos partidos del Congreso. Una de sus últimas decisiones fue hacer un tour de índole diplomática para intentar fortalecer relaciones con los sistemas limítrofes, en un intendo de evitar futuros sucesos como el de Lugh. Fue durante ese tour cuando su nave desapareció. ===== Línea temporal ===== 02 JUN 3301 Following a vote of no confidence, the missing Jasmina Halsey lost the presidential title. Zachary Hudson became the new President of the Federation. Secretary of State Felicia Winters became Acting President. ((Galnet: https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/26-MAY-3301)) 28 APR 3301 In an attempt to 'build stronger links' with Federal frontier systems, Halsey announced that she would be undertaking a Presidential tour where she would meet with their leaders and discuss what Sol can do to better support them. Oddly, 78 Ursae Majoris was included in the tour plan, despite it having voted to leave the Federation over a month ago. ((Galnet: https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/9a841bbac1a63ecfb9fd193c278bda8d3fa2fd71)) 24 MAR 3301 The Crimson State Group took control of Hartsfield Market in Lugh, the station with the master controls of Lugh’s military defence network. In a debate in Federal Congress, Halsey faced difficult questions from members of both parties over her mishandling of the Federation’s interests such as the ban on onionhead, the loss of frontier systems, and the Lugh war. Halsey ordered Federal pilots to attack the convoy. An estimated 9,322 innocent Federal civilians died in the attack. Halsey's approval rating fell to 26% and Shadow President Hudson swore there would be an investigation into the attack. During a weapons test, its systems opened fire on Hudson Dock instead of the target drone ship. This caused the station to automatically fire back. The result was dozens of deaths and hundreds of millions of credits worth of damage to both structures. Halsey declared war on the Crimson State Group, sparking off The War for Lugh. Halsey decided to send the new Farragut Battle Cruiser FNS Nevermore to Lugh for it's maiden flight. Georgio Algeria was defiant, saying their aid efforts were "just window dressing. They bully us, they burn us, now they try to buy us. Well we ain’t scared and we ain’t for sale. We say what happens on Panem, and we say Onionhead will live on!" Unlike the firebombs of the first Fedaral Navy attack, which caused controversial collateral damage, this attack utilised genetically engineered biocides targeted specifically to destroy the onionhead crop. Congressmen were angry at the publicity the drug had received from Halsey's announcements. 'Oniongate' protests continued.
